This is a hardcover book in a dust jacket. The book is a deep green bloth with bright gilt titles. The book covers are near fine. The interior pades are crisp and clean, but with a former owner name on the title page, and some notes added to the Table of Contents, plus occasional vertical lines in the margin. The end papers are photo illustrated and without marks. The dust jacket is unclipped, but has some wear to the corners, plus a tear on the back panel. Now protected from further wear in its see-through, removable mylar cover. Beautifully illustrated in full page very professional photographs by Harold & Erica Van Pelt. There is an Introduction by Richard T. Liddicoat Jr. , President of the Gemological Institute of America. There is a map of Brazil related to occurrences of gems and a Glossary. ; 8vo; 136 pages

This is a hardcover book without a dust jacket. It is a small book with black and white line drawn illustrations within the text. There are nineteen sections. Some titles are Drilling and Breaking, Transport Underground, Timbering, Dust Control, Bins, Surface. There is also an Index. There are 114 pages. The cover is a grey-beige cloth cover that has foxing - light brown spots most likely caused as a reaction to acidic properties in the glue that was used in the binding - or by the environment. The spine has darkened as have the edges of the cover. There is a former owner name on the front end paper. All other pages are crisp and clean. There are not other marks or writing. ; 8vo; 114 pages

Another secion is for Notes of Authenticity. The book is illustrated with photos and a few maps in black and white. The cover is a brown cloth. The binding is tight. There is a light touch of corner wear - light bumping - not frayed. There is a former owner name on the front end paper. All the pages are crisp as well as the cover except for a nickel size spot that is faintly lighter in color than the remainder of the cover. There is no jacket, most likely as issued. Well cared for. ; 8vo; 167 pages

The Workingmen's Benevolent Association of (the town of) St. Clair is the forerunner of the United Mine Workers Union. This is a thick book and may require slight extra postage if shipped by air.
