41 LINEA DI OPERAZIONI FIUME - ZAGABRIA NO. 6 Monografia Geografica Venezia Giulia Croazia - Slovenia | Capitola 26
Ministero Della Guerra 1930 Softcover
This is a book and map atlas published in 1930 and written in Italian covering the area of Venezia Guilia Croazia - Slovenia (Venice and the northwest corner of Italy and across the border into Croatia - Slovenia including Zagreb - the northwest area of what was once called Yugoslavia. ) This is a book with a flexible cover made of heavy weight grey art paper backed with fabric for strength. There are 142 pages of text in Italian and with 9 of 10 maps with two pasted down maps at the front and rear on the interior of the covers. Map 3 is missing except for one panel . Those present are 1 and 2, plus 4 though 10. The book appears to be published by the Ministero della Guerra which is printed on the title pages which is on the cover of the book. The rear of the book includes another map on the rear panel showing three geographica areas within the area described above and titled "Teatro di operazioni Italo-Jugoslavo". The areas shown in the map are numbered 5, 6, 7. This is Monografia Geografica N. 6 for Venezia Giulia Croazia-Slovenia and specifically the Linea di Operazioni Fiume - Zagabria. In the upper right hand corner of the front cover 'Copia No and a line are printed in the corner and the number '4' is stamped on the line. There is another stamp showing "Pubblicazione No 341R". It also states Capitolo 26 in due (2) volumi. This is Volume 1. The text covers the terrain and features with quite a lot of detail, including pronounciation and much more in an Appendix.. The binding is strong, but delicate in that the block of text and maps weighs about one pound and it is sewn to the cover, without glue. The top and bottom of the spine shows wear with some chipping. There is a small label with a border that has the number 10 written on it in red pencil. There is some rice paper reinforcement of the extremes of the spine in a blending tone to match the grey of the covers. The front cover has some smudges. The interior pages of text in Italian are clean and crisp except for some short vertical lines in pencil in the margin next to specific lines. There is a small oval stamp on the first page, plus some alpha and numeric characters in pencil in the margin. There are two small stamps at the rear of the book which says 'Withdrawn' in English. There are no other marks or writing. The maps are on strong paper with several fold marks. The first map is the largest at approximately 24 x 24 inches with black ink and a beige-buff shading to certain areas. The other maps are a little smaller with red and blue lines to marks roads or pass through, plus some solid coloring. .. The maps are in very good condition - there is a touch of darkening at the edges that doesn't affect the face of the map. There is a short closed tear at the hinge of the map stub which has been reinforced from the rear with archival Japanese paper. The book is about 8 " tall, 5 " wide, and 1" thick. Number 6, in Italian, 9 out of 10 fold-out maps, plus three other small maps on the end papers and the rear cover. This book is not commonly listed on the internet. Fiume / Rijeka; 8vo
