This is a hardcover book from a library (ex-lib) with minimal marks. The book was bound in grey paper. The spine is cloth. The covers have no library marks except for a small shadow where a call number was once affixed in the upper front corner..There are no other book plates or paste-ins. The interior pages and end papers are a rich art paper in grey with fore edges untrimmed as designed. There is a small stamp in the corner of the front end paper that says 'Main'. There are two small stamps on the first page of text with a trace of a pencil erasure. The name of the library does not appear anywhere. The pages are tight, bright and clean and there are no other marks and no writings. There is some edge wear at the corners of the covers and two spots on the back cover. The text is in Dutch. The book is illustrated with photocopies of an engraved portrait of Gutenberg and various leaves of manuscripts. ; 8vo; 62 pages

Washington Government Printing Office 1886 First Edition Hardcover Very Good Illustrated by Maps Plates 
This is a hardcover book published in 1886. The survey to consider It is comprised of a letters between the Secretary of the Navy and Congress, 41 pages of text, a table of Estimates of Cost, a Letter from the Director of the Geological Survey, J. W. Powell, Table of Contents/Index, and 12 fold-out maps and 56 plates. (One of the fold-out maps is contained within the text. ) The plates are scenes originally engraved on wood and copied for the book. The binding is a dark brown cloth, the binding is tight with a little wear to the corners. The gilt title on the spine is still quite readable. The end papers are in place and without any marks or writing. There is a slight reinforcement of the top and bottom of the end papers from the rear side of the paper. There is a little darkening to the edges of the pages. The maps are near pristine except for a very narrow line of page darkening wherever a fold in the map was at the edges of the pages - the page edges darkened by exposure to the environment over time. Most of the maps are quite large and it could be said that this book wasn't used much, if at all. Map 1 has one fold that has a crease parallel to the actual fold line with a 1/2 inch tear, now reinforced with Japanese tissue tape. Otherwise the maps are very clean and crisp. There are occasional tiny spots on the plates, but no tears or chips. Well cared for. Tall , wide, over an inch thick. Could require extra postage if shipped internationally. ; 4to

They travel the city going over old stagecoach routes. Since it is from 1944, the transportation to the starting point of an adventure is by streetcar. The cover is a bright red cloth with a gilt title with a border around it. The cover is bright and clean except that there are some marks on the cover that are noticeable when the book is held to the light. Some spots have affected the sheen of the cloth. The end papers are bright and clean, however there is an small sized Indian name stamped in using purple ink (on both the front and rear pasted down end paper) . The interior pages are bright and crisp. There are no marks or writing. There are some photo illustrations in black and white of places described. One is the statue of Hiawatha and a few lines from Longfellow. There is also an Index. ; 8vo; 44 pages

Another owner has written her name on the first blank page and has pasted in some small period art depictions of famous people.
