The book is in fine condition in a handsome dark blue cloth cover. Tight bright crisp clean. The end papers are a pictorial map of the US with the states covered in this book in green. The bookplate is on the half-title page at a slight angle. It is scenic within an ornate border with Alfred Mossman Landon in large print. The end papers are free of marks or writing. The pages are very clean. The book doesn't appear to be read - very crisp. The dust jacket is equally crisp and clean except for a ripple to the rear bottom edge. The price is unclipped, however there is a clipped corner at the bottom of the jacket flap. The jacket is protected in a new archival see-through, removablle mylar cover. ; 8vo; 317 pages

This is the 1867 edition of two works bound as one. There are 359 pages for Egypt and Sinai and 355 pages for the Holy land. There are two title and copyright pages. Each has a frontispiece - one is a portrait of Randall, the other a scene - both with tissue cover overlays. Each work is illustrated with reproduced scenes and maps. The cover is leather and marbled boards. The binding is in very good condition - just a touch of corner wear (now polished) . Tight and soundly structured. The end papers are marbled. There is a label in the upper left corner of the pasted down end paper indicating that the book was once sold by Goodspeed (From Great Western Publishing Agency Goodspeed & Co. There is a second label in the center of the front pasted down end paper indicating that the book was once in the collection of Rev. Jewel I. Pickett. All the pages are quite crisp and clean, but with light, occasional foxing. Well cared for. ; 8vo

This is a hardcover book of 416 pages published in 1873. The book has a green cloth cover with bright gilt titles on the front and spines. There is a fold out map and eleven full page illustrations with tissue guards. There are many illustrations with the text throughout the book. The book has a tight binding. The front lower corner has a little wear on the bottom corners. There is a slight touch of wear at the top of the spine. The gilt on the spine had dulled a little. A former owner gift note has been written in pencil on the front end paper which is a dark brown and coated paper as used in the 1870's . The pages are crisp and clean. The map is in color. It has a closed tear which has been professionally repaired on the reverse side using Japanese tissue archival paper. The map is crisp and new looking in every other way. There is an Index and four pages of book advertising by the publisher. The title page includes the date1873 and matches the copyright page - it is the Harper and Brothers first edition. It was published in the same year in London. In spite of a few faults the book gives the impression that it was well cared for. ; 8vo; 416 pages
