The essays are hand set and printed in black and red. The first letter is elaborately illustrated on quality paper. The book has a tight binding. The beveled edged book covers are clean, the spine has a touch of soil and there is a tiny spot of wear on the uper front corner. The end papers are discoloring from offset of glue. The pages are very clean. The edges are untrimmed. The top edges are gilt. This is a small, delicate phamphlet by Engels about utopian socialism, originally written in 1880 in Norwegian. This 1904 pamphlet was published in Norway. It has a fragile cover of soft paper cover that was in a shade of red and is now faded on part of the cover to brown. There is a simple line drawing of a supporter tipping his hat and holding a torch. There is a roman numeral IV following the main title (supposedly, this is also the fourth major work written by Engels. ) . The rear of the cover is blank as are the interior sides of the cover. The content is 72 pages of text (supposedly) with critiques of Utopians, Fourier and Owens. There is a former owner name weakly written in ink on the upper front corner of the cover. The cover is one piece of paper and some of it at the spine is missing exposing the signatures of the pages and staples. The interior pages are clean with a toned beige to the inexpensive paper. One page has a creased corner. There are no other marks or writing. The language is Norwegian. ; 12mo; 72 pages
