81 BULL DOGS - DOON BRAE & SMASHER Cassells
Cassells 1875 
This is a print published in 1875 by Cassells in London. The names of the bull dogs are Doon Brae & Smasher. It is an original chromolithograp h with a wide margin and all the credits that were printed by Cassells are present below the matboard. The mat color is in a complimentary colorand acid-free. The matboard overlaps the image border slightly. The colors in the image are several shades of brown, plus green and a pinkish-shrimp color. The matboard is in a neutral beige-gray that is in the background of the print. The image/window size is about 6 1/2 inches high x 8 3/4 inches wide. The outside dimenstion of the matting is cut to fit into a standard, ready-made frame (11 x 14 inches) . The print has been hinged, not glued. The print with the matboard has been wrapped in acetate to protect it. It can be hung on the wall, as is, since the acetate has a glass like quality - or - the acetate can be removed and the matboard can be inserted in a frame for hanging. A frame is not included. This print is nearly 125 years old, but in excellent condition. ; -

This is a small Exhibition Catalogue in a wrapper. It contains a list of women writers, their birth and death years, type of writing, name of the painter of their portrait and the etcher/engraver (where known; some data is missing) . There were multiple portraits of some women by a variety of artists/engravers. The interior if crisp and clean with no wear, no marks or writing except for a pencil note of the number of engravers listed on the inside of the rear cover. The wrapper is the soft paper, hand set with red and black ink. This book has toning around the edges and there are multipe spots and some tiny chips at the tips of the corners. The binding is sewn. 7" high, 4 3/8" wide, a fraction of an inch thick. ; 8vo; 24 pages

The front cover is a facsimile of the original. The condition is very good. There is a stlight curl to the corners of the front cover, but no chips, tears, and quite clean. The finterior pages are equally crisp and clean on quality paper with clearn reproduction photographs. There are no marks or writing except for a check mark on one of Tall oblong, 9" tall, nea 11" wide. There is a hanndsome reprofuction of an elaborate clodk on the rear cover. ; 8vo; 99 pages

This is a handsome exhibition catalog from 1966. There were 172 items detailed in this catalog on art paper, followed by 60 black and white photograph plates of some of the items. The details are nicely arranged on a cream art paper, the plates are on glossy paper. There is a soft green art paper cover with a line drawing of serving pieces with a floral design embossed and in white. The binding is tight and the covers are quite clean except for a loss of color in two tiny places on the rear cover. There is a faint touch or corner wear at the tips of the front corners. There is a spot on the inside cover that transferred to the end paper. There are no marks or writing. The interior pages are crisp and clean. The exhibition dates were June 10 through July 31 (1966) . ; 8vo

The binding is tight, the paper and condition is in near pristine condition, crisp, clean, bright. There is one small faint spot on the front cover and a short (1/4") closed tear on the cover - now repaired with archival, nearly invisible tape on the inside of the cover. There are no marks or writing, no tears, no chips, no creases. The cover is partly Art Nouveau in a green and violet design. The title page indicates that the program is Uner Auspices of Muscatine Civic Association. Names listed are Oscar Gresheim and Prof. Paul F. Voelker. Switzerland Fabrication Suisse Booklet 
This is a tall, narrow bound booklet containing perforated postcards in lithographic color and outline black and white line drawings of the images in the postcards. The black and white outline can be colored by copying the postcard (opposite) and then both the published or the hand colored postcard could be sent. Or the entire booklet could be preserved. All black and white cards are untouched. The postcards tell the Cinderella and the Hansel and Grettel stories in pictures. No text. All the drawings are signed on the card with a monogram that contains the letters M and W. The M is over the W. The cover has a colored image of Conderella in a window feeding birds with more birds approaching. There are 12 lithograph postcards and 12 black and whites. The reverse side of each is lines for an address, note, and a place for the stamp. The paper is delicately brittle. Some of the bottom corners have chipped at the points with the art of the card untouched. The booklet is bound with staples and some of the fold in the booklet has separated and reinforced with archival tape - not touching the postcards. Some perforations have started to separate. Must be handled with care until used. The cards and covers are quite clean, but with a faint spot or two on the rear cover. The rear of the booklet shows that the booklet was published in Switzerland the the Fabrication Suisse. There is a logo and the Number 836.; 8vo

Photogravure (photo engraving) of the Burning of the "Congress". Faintly tinted in blue-green. The artist is Warren Sheppard and is signed on the plate. The image size is 7" high by 4 5/8" wide. The outside dimension of the paper is 10" H x 6 5/8" W. The print is clean, the paper is heavy stock quality. There is slight discoloration at the very edge of the paper. This is an original print that was published in 1897. ; 7" H x 4 5/8" W
