Hard-bound book in good condition, with good clipped dust jacket. Cloth boards are crisp and binding is tight, but cloth on boards is starting to discolor, especially at the spine. There is a smudge on the back panel at the bottom corner. The end papers are discoloring from the glue used by the binder. Pages are clean but slightly yellowed with age. Dust jacket is shows edge wear and has a 5/8 inch chip at the bottom of the spine and a corner chip on the rear panel at the bottom corner. The color of the spine is darkening and shows a water stain. Jacket looks better in a see-through, removable mylar cover. ; 8vo; 133 pages

The book is profusely illustrated with old photographs and scenes. The most serious flaw is the mark of a paper clip that held the business cards - a partial rust mark on the tip of the half-title page and the adjacent page. The dust jacket has a slight touch of corner wear, a tiny tear on the rear panel and a few spots - also on the rear panel. It is now protected in a new archival see-through, removable mylar cover. The jacket is unclipped. This is a 1915 hardcover book in near fine condition, however there is a book plate on the front pasted down end paper with the words: Society of Writers to His Majesty's Signet - it has a "Withdrawn" stamp and a check mark on it. There are no other library or ownership marks except a possible five digit number on the reverse of the title page. There are some letters and numbers on the reverse of the front free end paper, nothing more. The book is in a handsome dark brown cloth cover with a title (blind stamped and black ink filled) on the front cover and spine. The book covers are clean and crisp with a tight binding. , There are black coated end papers in fine condtion. The pages are in fine condition. Well cared for. There is some text (including information on Regnal Years) . Most of the book contains tables and lists. The last two charts are Law Terms. Well cared for. The plate of the Society is a reproduction of an etching, nicely executed. There is a tiny plate of a bookstore on the front pasted down end paper near the spine - 'William Bryce Bookseller Edinburgh'. The remainder of the title continues - " ... From the Norman Conquest to the present time, With Lists of Saints Days arranged both Alphabetically and also as a Calendar, and other Useful Tables. ; 8vo; 138 pages
