Title A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS Roper #2
Seller ID 3031
Original pen, watercolor, and gouache drawing on grey paper of a costume design for the character Roper in "A Man for All Seasons". The full figure portrait of Roper is rendered in watercolors and gouche and defined with ink and pencil contour lines. Swatches of the actual fabrics selected for his costume are stapled along the upper left hand corner and the title Roper #2 is written in ink in the top right corner. Drawing is in fine condition and the paint and ink remain opaque and fresh, there is, however a two inch long light crease in the left hand corner which does not effect the painted figure. This drawing is one of a series of drawings for the costumes designed for Shakespeare's "A Man For All Seasons" performed in St. Paul, MN in the 1970's. (More costumes are available upon request) Drawing measures 12 3/4" x 9 3/4" (height by width) . Designed and drawn by Bill Henry. ; 12 3/4" x 9 3/4"
