This is a wood-engraving by Winslow Homer of two girls in fashionable bathing attire of the time. They are walking on the beach. There are other bathers in walkers in the background as well as a sailboat. The engraving appeared in Harper's Weekly in 1873. The print has been hinged on pure archival matboard and matted in antique cream archival board using museum style mounting for easy viewing . It is ready to place in a standard 16 x 20 frame (frame not included) . The imprint is in a rich ink - distinctly strong. The paper is clean except for two pencil point brown spots between the feet of one of the girls. There are no fold marks, creases, chips, or other signs of wear. The print has been clipped to about 3/8 and 5/8 from the image border. The image is 14" high (including the caption) x 9 3/8" wide. The outside dimensions of the matboard are 20 " high x 16" wide. The matboard has been protected in an acetate cover which will be included in the shipment along with a foamcore backing for support. There is no glue used except for the mounting hinge.
