SIGNED. This is a typed manuscript thesis of this doctoral work by Cummins inscribed to his parents and dated June 8, 1967. "A Thesis submitted to the Faculty of the Graduate School of the University of Minnesota" and "In Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy". There is a copyright statement and date on onion skin followed by the manuscript on 8 1/2 x 11 paper. The cover is a black facsimile pebbled leather. The spine is in gilt stating PH. D THESIS (rule) 1967 and Roger W. Cummins. The condition is fine for the cover. The end papers have a little browning at the glue lines. There are no other marks or writing on the end papers or the pages. Crisp and clean except for the top edges which have spots. The tips of the edges have some browning and one foxing spot is noted. Tightly bound . Handsome-simple binding. The coverage of this work is Utopia as sought during the mid-1800's with detailed accounts of the philosphical ties and relationships to Americans of note and especially with Amos Bronson Alcott and his circle and family. ; 4to; 301 pages; Signed by Author
