This is a hardcover book without a jacket (as issued) . The 1925 edition is the first John C. Winston edition, the first edition in the U S was in 1913 by another publisher. The covers and spine are a soft green cloth with a illustration and title in paper that was adhered to the cover by the binder. There are three color book plates within the book in the same sweet art. The illustrator is Eugenie Wireman . The text is profusly illustrated with black and white line drawings. The author's intent is to teach children about their "physical, mental, and moral well-being". (The manner of teaching in the text of this book is (in my opinion) extremely strict with a narrow, authoritari an approach, especially in the critical use of examples of other people. ) The book is in very good condition. The covers are clean with only a slight bump to front corners, the binding is tight, the end papers crisp and clean (with a slight trace of a pencil price erasure) , the pages are equally crisp and clean. ; 8vo; 301 pages
