This is the original 1866 edition published in Boston. The book is bound in brown cloth and a leather spine. The covers are blindstamped (reverse embossing) with a handsome border and center decorative design. The spine has a blind stamped design and a title with horizontal bordering, all in bright guilt. The binding is tight , the covers clean, the corners squared, but there is some scuffing to the spine, a repair, and there is some scuffing of the cloth on the rear cover. The end papers are complete. There is a former owner name in pencil on the front free end paper and a trace of a pencil price erasure. The interior pages are very clean. No marks or writing. There is a listing of books on eight pages at the beginning of the book - offerings of Latin books by Andrews. He text appears to be all in Latin, except for the chapter headings which are in English. ; 8vo; 294 pages
