This is a hardcover book without a jacket. Published in 1889 in softcovers, the book has been rebound in tan paper covered boards and a cloth spine, with the softcovers bound in. Parts of a leather label for the spine have chips; it is still readable. There is a chip to the interior front soft cover. The soft covers have darkened. The book contains general statements of products, parish figures (number of plantations, productions, description of sugar houses, statistics, fold out tables, U. S. Trade numbers, remarks, reports on specific products - sorghum, for example. The publication is profusely illustrated with advertising, much of it illustrated. The advertising has been interspersed within the text. Most of the companies buying advertising are located in New Orleans. Some are printed on bright pink paper. The covers show corner wear and some smudging. The spine has been described. The interior pages are clean and crisp. The fold out tables are in fine condition. ; 8vo; 1889 pages
