The binding is tight and the pages are firmly bound. The original covers are maroon cloth with gilt title. There are library numbers on the spine, a library bookplate on the front end paper, small pencil and ink marks on the first page of text. The hinges of the original end papers were reinforced unnecessarily. There are no other library marks. There is some edge wear and moderate bumping to the covers. The interior is clean except for occasional pencil critiques in old writing by a former owner. The book includes an Introduction and Preface by Dircks. The text includes An Invetion of Engines in Motion and a Bibliographical Catalogue, Letters of Crissy Dymock and Publishers advertising on the last pages. The full title is A Biographical Memoir of Samuel Hartlib, Milton's Familiar Friend; with Bibliographical Notices of Works Published by Him; and A Reprint of His Pamplet, entitled "An Introduction of Engines of Motion".
