Falter, Marcel POUR LE SUPREME EFFORT. EMPRUNT NATIONAL SOCIETE GENERALE Paris Imp. Chaix 1918 Original lithograph of a World War 1 propaganda poster by the artist Marcel Falter. The image depicts a French soldier choking and ending the life of a Prussian eagle. It was designed to appeal to the resoluteness of the cause and to generate funds to pay war loans. This poster has been folded and there are some short closed tears at some of the fold corners. There is light soiling towards the center of the lower portion of the poster. In other areas there are hints of smudge or lithographic ink. There is a one inch+ closed tear in the left margin that does not extend into the image. The upper left corner has a crese and a puncture. There are other svery short closed tears and light edge chipping. Please request additional images or descriptions of condition, if needed. The outside dimensions of the paper are 47 1/4" H x 31 1/4" W. This print is not backed in linen. It is presently laid on foam core board with an acid free backing paper.
