The book has been well cared for except for a spot in the shape of quarter of a circle as if a drink had been set on it. The remainder of the cover is quite clean . There is a touch of slight corner wear at the front edges. The interior is crisp and clean - no marks, no writing, no wear. ; 8vo; 60 pages

The covers are clean. There is a former owner name discreetly stamped in on the reverse. All the pages are clean. They all appear to be without marks or writing. Well cared for - tight binding, sea blue cloth with bright gilt border and title on the front cover and gilt title on the spine. Very clean with no marks, no writing, no wear. The end papers are crisp and clean with only a faint hint of a pencil price erasure in the corner of the front free paper. This is a program souvenir for the inauguration of the store after reconstruction in 1924. There are seven full page illustrations by the artist Drian in black and white and a preface and tribute - comments by Laguionie & Cie. , H. Gordon Selfridge, M. Jean-Louis Audoyer, and M. P. Vanginot. The illustrations are back to back with the text. There is a double spread in the center with a wide view of the exterior of this striking architectural building. The other illustrations are of very stylish shoppers and employees and one is a view of two woman on the terrace with the cupola in the background. The pages are bound portfolio style and enclosed in a faux leather cover made from heavy paper smoothed to provide gloss and then embossed to represent a faux tooled design.. There are three shapes in green and black ink - a border band which surrounds a diamond shape band which then surrounds a circular design. The back ground color is a yellow beige. Nearly all the surface is covered to replicate a leather tooled binding. The pages are all crisp and clean, however there is a remnant of a rust stain on the first two pages at the top right corner that has the shape of a round paper clip. There may have been business cards secured to the top edges. The faux leather cover for the portfolio has visible wear at the top and bottom of the spine. The card stock backing board is exposed, i. E. , the corners are missing. . The front corners and edges have a touch of wear. The covers are clean. There are no marks or writing on the pages or the portfolio cover. ; Folio; 16 pages

This is a large hardcover book about commerical businesses in Kansas City in the 1890's. The copyright date is 1899 (by E. S. Hand) . About half of the book is advertisements and the other half consists of detail about a grand hotel in Kansas City. This book was published about 1900.The covers are beveled book boards covered in cream colored paper vellum. "The Midland Kansas City' is blindstamped and filled in gilt on the front cover. The binding is decorative cord. The end papers are a small flower design in brown ink. The beginning pages are all mostly full page advertisements - many are railroad. The book and the text is intended to honor the construction of the hotel, The Midland, completed in1888. The book is printed on smooth cream paper with brown ink. There are numerous line drawings of the hotel, from a cross section of the floor to the spa, kitchen, front desk, power generator, bathroom, neighboring stores, transportation. Ornate letters of every style are used throughout to start the text. A charming book. The covers show soil, the paper covering at the top and bottom of the spine is chipped. The end papers are clean as are the interior pages. The pages are supple and crisp. All edges are a bright gilt. The cord has been replaced. Approximately 10 1/2 inches high x 10 1/2 inches wide. ; 4to

This item is eight pages from Feiullets D'Art - four pages of text and four plates of the Lanvin's Theatre Daunou. There is a wonderful small Art Deco decorative (solid color) lithograph representing theatre chair backs and seats blue fabric with a greyish green for the arms. It is on less than one-half of the last page. There four four plate tipped on to a greyish paper. Two are in color - the first is a full front look of the stage with a female form in the foreground. The other is an artists look at the plan for the buildingon the stage. It includes the over and side decorations of the stage in a Persian design - the colors are blue. There are two other tipped in blints ain offset black/grey on white - one is of an ornate lighting fixture. There are an additional three illustrations withint the text of peacock and monkey decor used in the theatre. The eight pages have been bound in a custom wrapper. ; 8vo; 8 pages
