Tight, bright, clean hardback book in a dust jacket. Book would be near fine except for remnant of faint mustiness. Brown leatherette cover with medallion design on cover. Handsome end papers with aircraft design. Clean end papers and pages. Dust jacket has (brown spots) foxing on the inside, two closed tears and some creasing between the tears. Generally, bright looking in a mylar see-through, removable cover. Color and black and white photographs. Many tables. A foldout with a list of all Boeing aircraft and who is was built for, plus statistics. On the reverse of the foldout, there is a diagram of the years since 1916 with a silhouette of the aircraft, plus missiles and boats. ; 8vo

There is a tiny rectangle residue of a price sticker on the front end paper. The paper is discoloring slightly and evenly from possibly the grade of paper used. The unclipped dust jacket show edge and corner wear and some rubbing of the color layer of the paper, but looks brighter in a see through protector. Timeless humor about flying and pilots. 9 Rickenbacker, Capt Edward V. AUTOGRAPH Typed Signed Letter on EAL Letterhead As President of Eastern Air Lines to Frank Dale, Autograph President of the Mechanical Man, Inc.

This is a letter from Eddie Rickenbacker to Mr. Frank Dale who was President of the Mechanical Man. Rickenbacker was responsing to a letter by Dale commenting on a mix-up in reservations and a commendation of an employee of Easter Air Lines . Rickenbacker was President and General Manager. There is a reference to a former (ongoing? ) meeting . The letter is addressed "My dear Frank". : This typed letter is on Eastern Air Lines letterhead from the Rockefeller Plaza office of EAL at the time of this letter, July 11, 1949. There is mention of the Constellation aircraft. Signed in ink. There is a slight hint of a crease on the upper right corner. There are two fading fold marks typical for a letter. No envelope. ; .

The paper clip held two letters - an exchange between Vinson and his publisher, R. S. Woolson of Wiley, in 1974. The letters are laid in. The inscription is to 'Conners' who found an error in the book. The dust jacket has a magenta color that shows some rubbing and light edge wear. ; 8vo; 173 pages; Signed by Author
