A JEWISH SYNAGOGUE Print from 1870's
1 A JEWISH SYNAGOGUE Print from 1870's
1870
This is a steel engraving of A Jewish Synagogue, engraved by Ebenezer Challis after a painting by Solomon Hart. There is a lushness of ink in dark shading of the interior lit by candles. The print is double matted in archival matboard and the outside dimensions are cut for standard size, ready-made frames (frame not included) . The print is on heavy stock paper that has been hinged to the matboard opening, not pasted down. The print has been backed by acid free paper, placed on foamcore, then wrapped in acetate. The print can be hung on the wall temporarily as the acetate has a glassy look. The print is very clean. The outside dimensions of the matboard is 18" high x 14" wide. The inside dimensions of the window opening is 10 1/2" high x 8 1/2" wide. ; -

11 Engels, Friedrich SOCIALISMENS UDVIKLING FRA UTOPI TIL VIDENSKAB
[kristiana] Det Norske Arveiderparti 1904 First Edition Pamphlet
This is a small, delicate phamphlet by Engels about utopian socialism, originally written in 1880 in Norwegian. This 1904 pamphlet was published in Norway. It has a fragile cover of soft paper cover that was in a shade of red and is now faded on part of the cover to brown. There is a simple line drawing of a supporter tipping his hat and holding a torch. There is a roman numeral IV following the main title (supposedly, this is also the fourth major work written by Engels. ) . The rear of the cover is blank as are the interior sides of the cover. The content is 72 pages of text (supposedly) with critiques of Utopians, Fourier and Owens. There is a former owner name weakly written in ink on the upper front corner of the cover. The cover is one piece of paper and some of it at the spine is missing exposing the signatures of the pages and staples. The interior pages are clean with a toned beige to the inexpensive paper. One page has a creased corner. There are no other marks or writing. The language is Norwegian. ; 12mo; 72 pages
