1 'SUMMER' .... AN ETCHING BY IGNAZ MARCEL GAUGENGIGI American Art Review
1880 
This is a single etching in near fine condition by a German-American artist, Ignaz Marcel Gaugengigl (1855 - 1932) . The image is of a seated lady in turn-of-the-century attire, her face is in profile as she looks at something outside the frame of the image while putting on or taking off a glove. This piece has the loose, free character of a sketch while depicting the etchers ability to catch slightly windblown hair, and lace with soft folds of fabric. The Image is 7" height x 4 1/2" width. The outside dimensions of paper are 12 1/8" H x 9" W. This etching is from the American Art Review by Koehler. Clean and crisp - no marks or wear. Signed on the plate in the upper left corner. ; .

This is an etching in near fine condition of "A Sketch-North River", by Reginald Cleveland Coxe. The image depicts a lone tugboat with a trail of steam against a cloudy or foggy background including a vague coastline beyond the ship. The etching is of fine quality with intricate linework. The print is neat and exceptionally clean with a strong plate mark. The antique white woven paper has no tears or chips. The print is hinged on a piece of archival matboard and matted with an opening using archival, quality matboard which can be used for framing. (Frame not included. ) The image size is approximately 3 3/4" in height and 6" wide. The plate mark is approximately 1/4" out from the image. The window opening is approximately 4 3/4" in height and 7" wide. The outside dimensions of the matboard are 10" x 13". Signed on the plate with initials, RCC. 1888. Coxe is known for marine and atmospheric scenes . Coxe, American, 1855 - 1926/7. Member of the American Barbizon School during the Etching Revival. ; .

This is a print - an original etching by Malcolm Osborne, signed in pencil. Two figures in the foreground appear to be viewing a distant farm beyond farmland or water. There is a line of poplars and the left is framed in trees. The etching has been hinged and matted on pure archival, antique cream matboard that is cut and ready to frame in a standard size 14 x 18 frame (frame not included) . The image is 6 1/4" high x 13 3/4 " wide. The image is richly inked. There is aI burn mark around the plate mark which is now covered by the archival matboard. T he margins are about 1 1/2 to 2+ inches. The paper is otherwise clean. There are no fold marks, creases, chips, or other signs of wear. The matboard has been protected in acetate and supported on the back with foamcore. Noglue has been used except for the mounting hinge. Possibly one of his earlier etchings: c 1910? . ; -

The view is of The Wayside Inn from across the creek/river with late fall trees in the foreground and three main buildings surrounded by trees. There is a bridge on the left. The title of the work is etched on the plate in the lower left corner and the intitials EHG plus an 1880 date is etched on the lower right corner. The paper is neat and clean with no tears, chips, or discoloration. The image is 4 1/2" high x 6 3/4" wide. The paper is H 8 3/4" x W 12 1/8". Etching by Slant with nicely executed architectural renderings. Signed on the plate in monogram. Signed and titled in pencil. A small blind embossed oval stamp reads "Rembrandt Guild /Artist Proof". The window opening is 10 3/4" H x 14 1/2" W. The print is museum mounted in archival material. The mat tint is ivory. The outside dimension is 16"H x 20" W. There is a closed tear on the left side of the paper that extends into the image about an inch, however it is nearly invisible in the margin and invisible in the image as it exactly follows the line of an awning. It has been repaired on the reverse side with archival Japanese tissue mending tape. There is a missing piece of paper in the upper left corner, not visible to the eye. There is residue of glue on the reverse side of the print in the upper margin. None of these paper imperfections appear within the window image. If held to the light from the right angle, it is possible to see some very faint impressions in the paper probably caused by improper storage. ; -

ThIs item is a very nice photogravure reprint of an etching with a view of Basle, Switzerland by J. M. W. Turner, printed in light sepia brown ink. The print image is of a bridge and the daily life on the river with a strong architectural image of a section of the city on the right and a fading background of the city on the left beyond the bridge. The title and names of the artist, etcher, and engraver are labled beneath the plate under the image. The print is neat and clean with a strong plate mark and contains no tears, chips or discoloration. The outside dimensions of the paper are 12 1/2" H x 16" W and the image measures 7 1/2" H x 10 1/2 3/4" W reserv029 ; Prints; 7 1/2" H x 10 1/2 3/4" W
