1 GUIDE INDICATEUR DES RUES DE PARIS

This is a hardcover book guide without a date. The fonts on the cover make it look like a turn of the century book, the contents and paper indicate a 1950's date. The book is comprised of many varieties of Indexes and maps. The only page in text is one page in both French and English. The streets of Paris are tabbed alphabetically for quick reference. Following the streets there are batches of convenient reference for Tourist offices, theatres, hippodromes, bookstores, ministers, hospitals, embassies, There are colored maps of divisions of the city with numeric tabs. There is a large fold out map of Paris. There is a map at the front of the underground transportation routes. The book looks like it was barely used. The large fold out map of Paris is in near perfect condition. The map in the front has a slight extra crease at one of the folds. Very clean. There are no marks or writing other than a former owner name and address. The covers are in brown cloth with a silver metallic ink title on the front cover. Tight binding. Crisp. Well organized content. ; 8vo

This is a book and map atlas published in 1930 and written in Italian covering the area of Venezia Guilia Croazia - Slovenia (Venice and the northwest corner of Italy and across the border into Croatia - Slovenia including Zagreb - the northwest area of what was once called Yugoslavia. ) This is a book with a flexible cover made of heavy weight grey art paper backed with fabric for strength. There are 142 pages of text in Italian and with 9 of 10 maps with two pasted down maps at the front and rear on the interior of the covers. Map 3 is missing except for one panel . Those present are 1 and 2, plus 4 though 10. The book appears to be published by the Ministero della Guerra which is printed on the title pages which is on the cover of the book. The rear of the book includes another map on the rear panel showing three geographica areas within the area described above and titled "Teatro di operazioni Italo-Jugoslavo". The areas shown in the map are numbered 5, 6, 7. This is Monografia Geografica N. 6 for Venezia Giulia Croazia-Slovenia and specifically the Linea di Operazioni Fiume - Zagabria. In the upper right hand corner of the front cover 'Copia No and a line are printed in the corner and the number '4' is stamped on the line. There is another stamp showing "Pubblicazione No 341R". It also states Capitolo 26 in due (2) volumi. This is Volume 1. The text covers the terrain and features with quite a lot of detail, including pronounciation and much more in an Appendix.. The binding is strong, but delicate in that the block of text and maps weighs about one pound and it is sewn to the cover, without glue. The top and bottom of the spine shows wear with some chipping. There is a small label with a border that has the number 10 written on it in red pencil. There is some rice paper reinforcement of the extremes of the spine in a blending tone to match the grey of the covers. The front cover has some smudges. The interior pages of text in Italian are clean and crisp except for some short vertical lines in pencil in the margin next to specific lines. There is a small oval stamp on the first page, plus some alpha and numeric characters in pencil in the margin. There are two small stamps at the rear of the book which says 'Withdrawn' in English. There are no other marks or writing. The maps are on strong paper with several fold marks. The first map is the largest at approximately 24 x 24 inches with black ink and a beige-buff shading to certain areas. The other maps are a little smaller with red and blue lines to marks roads or pass through, plus some solid coloring. .. The maps are in very good condition - there is a touch of darkening at the edges that doesn't affect the face of the map. There is a short closed tear at the hinge of the map stub which has been reinforced from the rear with archival Japanese paper. The book is about 8 " tall, 5 " wide, and 1" thick. Number 6, in Italian, 9 out of 10 fold-out maps, plus three other small maps on the end papers and the rear cover. This book is not commonly listed on the internet. Fiume / Rijeka; 8vo

This is a set of charts bound at the top of the book (vertically 13 1/2" high x 8 1/2" wide) . There are five pages of preliminary overview with legends, full view of the area covered in map form, and three charts of detail which include the couty outlines and names that the border the river. There are two charts of two pages each at the rear of the book for the Minnesota and St. Croix Rivers feed. The Mississippi is drawn and bound south to north in 57 charts. The condition is very good to near fine. The soft covers are firmly bound in a grey art heavy stock paper with a title on the cover. There is a little crease on the bottom right corner and a sprinkle of spots. All the interior pages are in fine condition. The River is shown in blue and there are red notations. The bordering area and names are in black ink. ; 4to; 66 pages

4 THIRTEENTH ANNUAL REPORT OF THE NORTHERN PACIFIC RAILWAY COMPANY (1909) (1908 - 1909)

This is a book with a fold out map in a soft cover, bound by staples. The map is in fine condition. It folds out from the binding in four panels. It is about 17" tall and 33" wide. There is soft color to define state and international borders. It shows the routes of the Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy RR System in addition to the Northern Pacific Railway System. The text with its lists, graphs, tables, fiscal statements is also in fine condition. No marks or writing. The covers are paper - there is a closed tear at the bottom front with a crease and the spine fold has been reinforced from the inside with Japanese tissue mending paper. The map is on very thin, lightweight, but strong paper - it covers the part of the U S from Wisconsin to the Pacific Coast, part of Canada near the border, and the bottom part extends from Northern Illinois to Northern California through the intermediate states. This is the map volume from this work by Alison. There are 108 maps of battles and a frontispiece labeled Military Signs and of Modern Fortification. It is a visual tool for reading the maps pertaining to the battles. . This is the 1852 edition. All the maps are firmly bound to a backing paper. The covers and spine are off - there are four parts: two covers, one spine, and one block of maps. The covers and the spine are full leather. The spine is ornately designed with two compartments used for the title and four with a handsome gold filled tooling . Two of the compartments have some missing leather. Could be restored or used for the maps. The maps are quite clean except for map 44 which has some heavy foxing (medium brown staining, probably from acidic paper that was inserted. ) There is occasional very light foxing on some other maps, mostly in the margins. Lithographs on a heavy weight of paper. Symbols of ships, forts, grounds are lightly hand-colored. The end papers are marbled. There is a former engraved bookplate with the name A. F. Cunningham. A later owner's name is written in pencil on the reverse side of the frontispeice. There is an alphabetical cross reference to the maps and an alphabetical glossary. ; 8vo

This is a soft cover book of 96 pages, published by the U. S. Army as a reference for reading maps published in Japanese. There is a list of very detailed sites that would be found on a map from cemetary to breakwater to sheep pasture and some more detailed ones such as kaolin deposit and extra words such as legation and star and globe. The romanized and English word are shown with the Kanji. There is a conversion table of Romaji equivalents, a table of Christian-Japanese years, a list of Provinces, and a list of Japanese security classifications . The rear cover has been replaced with a paper similar to the paper front cover which is present. The front cover edges have been reinforced with archival Japanese tissue tape. There is a corner chip and some short closed tears on the cover. The interior pages are crisp and clean. There are no added marks or writing. Well cared for except that the paper used has not stood the test of time. ; 8vo

This is the eighth edition of this guide book to Morocco published in 1913. This book is in French. It is a hefty work in twenty chapters. There are three maps bound in at the rear of the book. The maps are in fine condition - crisp, well cared for. Itineraires au Maroc de Mr. Eudgene Aubin 1902-1903 with seven neat folds; Fez with three folds; Environs de Fez with five folds. All maps are in lithgraphic color; subtle to bright for the Fez map. There is one soft crease on the third map at one small corner. The covers are delicate and a little overall worn because of the flexibility of the paper. There is a little chipping at the bottom of the spine and some on the sides, again at the bottom. The pages are uncut. Appears to be unread. ; 8vo; 500 pages

8 Menocal, A. G. REPORT OF THE U.S. NICARAGUA SURVEYING PARTY, 1885
Washington Government Printing Office 1886 First Edition Hardcover Very Good Illustrated by Maps Plates 
This is a hardcover book published in 1886. The survey to consider It is comprised of a letters between the Secretary of the Navy and Congress, 41 pages of text, a table of Estimates of Cost, a Letter from the Director of the Geological Survey, J. W. Powell, Table of Contents/Index, and 12 fold-out maps and 56 plates. (One of the fold-out maps is contained within the text. ) The plates are scenes originally engraved on wood and copied for the book. The binding is a dark brown cloth, the binding is tight with a little wear to the corners. The gilt title on the spine is still quite readable. The end papers are in place and without any marks or writing. There is a slight reinforcement of the top and bottom of the end papers from the rear side of the paper. There is a little darkening to the edges of the pages. The maps are near pristine except for a very narrow line of page darkening wherever a fold in the map was at the edges of the pages - the page edges darkened by exposure to the environment over time. Most of the maps are quite large and it could be said that this book wasn't used much, if at all. Map 1 has one fold that has a crease parallel to the actual fold line with a 1/2 inch tear, now reinforced with Japanese tissue tape. Otherwise the maps are very clean and crisp. There are occasional tiny spots on the plates, but no tears or chips. Well cared for. Tall , wide, over an inch thick. Could require extra postage if shipped internationally. ; 4to

The binding is tight, bright, and clean with a slight bump to the corners. The . Gilt of the title has faded. The interior pages are clean. There is a former owner name neatly written in ink on the front free end paper. This book is heavy and may require extra postage if shipped by air. ; 4to; 387 pages
