This is the ninth edition (1892) hardcover ex-library book with full library markings. There are four city plans and only two (out of four) maps according to the Table of Contents. The City Plans are: St. John, Halifax, Quebec, Montreal and the two Maps are: The Basin of Minas and the Old Acadian Land - and - Map of the Saguenay River. All the plans and maps are fold outs of at least three panels. The book is not pretty, but will come with an art paper cover that will allow the book to look good on the shelf. The binding is tight and the pages are clean. The cover is red cloth with a leather grain simulation. The spine is darkened and not quite readable, there are faint library call numbers and a painted dot of yellow and a chip at the top of the spine. There is some darkening around the edges of the ront and back cover and some corner wear.. There Is a title in gilt on the front cover - "Sweeter's Maritime Pronvinces". There is a library pocket pasted down on the inside end paper with a check in/out card which has been stamped several times. The end paper was an advertisement, now covered. There is a blank piece of paper pasted down on the front free end paper (also an advertisement) . There are several pages of interesting advertising at the front and rear of the book - mostly for companies and businesses in Massachusetts. The library name is perforated in pin like dots on some of the front pages. The library name is stamped on all edges. The top edge is darkened. One of the folds in Halifax mas has been repaired with Japanese archival rice-tissue paper. Reading copy, but with an art paper cover for appearance. There are 336 pages including a detailed Index, plus advertising. ; 8vo

This is a hardcover book in a dust jacket. The book would be considered in fine condition if not for a former owner gift note sprawled on the end paper, otherwise tight, bright, and very clean. The dust jacket is clipped and has some edge wear, though bright and complete. This is a young adult book in the Sterling Nature Series. The book if profusely illustrated in quality photographs of flowers and buds of fruits and berries. The black and white photographs are close-up and have intense tone. ; 8vo

This is a First Edition hardcover book in a dust jacket. A biography of Champlain in New America - a friend of the Algonquin and Huron and an explorer of the coast from Quebec to Cape Cod, founder of Quebec. The book has a tight binding, clean covers (a rust colored cloth with a decorative center in gilt and white ink and a handsome title on the spine. The pictorial end papers are clean as are the pages. Crisp with no marks or writings. A quality binding. The dust jacket is unclipped, has some corners wear and a closed short tear. Unclipped. Now protected in a new archival see-through, removable mylar cover. There are some illustrations - copies of maps and prints and some photos. Morison is a well known biographer, historian, Pulitzer Prize winner, professor and recipient of many literary, arts, and science awards. ; 8vo; 199 pages

This is a hardcover book in a dust jacket. The book is tight, bright, crisp and clean and without marks or writing except for a small rectangle on the front end paper where the paper is rough, probably from the removal of a price sticker. There is a slight curve to the back book board cover. The dust jacket is unclipped. The original price has been crossed out and a new price written in. There is wear to the edges of the jacket and a sprinkling of small age spots and some discoloration at the fold of the dust jacket. It is now protected from futher wear by a see-through, removable mylar cover. The title on the book jacket is Stories of Kentucky from The Life and Works of John Wilson Townsend. ; 8vo; 611 pages
