This is a print (not a book) by Gustave Baumann. This woodcut was published in 1912 in conjunction with a book featuring the twelve months of the year accompanied by poems of James Whitcomb Riley. The printed poem is included. This image is of a small house with a fence, a little bridge to the stone steps up to the gate. There is a hint of spring with birds finding their 'house' and trees still a little bare. There is a border design beyond the printed border at the top corners and abbreviated on the bottom corners. The Baumann monogram is on the lower right. The colors are a soft orange, brown, blue, grey. The image with the border is 7 7/8" high and 6 1/4" wide. This print has been matted in archival materials. The print is hinged at the top; it is not glued down. The matboard may be opened to examine the paper of the margins. The dimensions of the paper are 10 3/8" high x 8 1/2" wide. The paper has a touch of foxing on the right and lower edge. The outside matboard dimensions are 14" x 11" which is a standard frame size. (Frame not included) . The matboard was selected to complement/match the tone of the paper. The print will be mailed with ample protective material. ; .

The details are nicely arranged on a cream art paper, the plates are on glossy paper. There is a soft green art paper cover with a line drawing of serving pieces with a floral design embossed and in white. The binding is tight and the covers are quite clean except for a loss of color in two tiny places on the rear cover. There is a faint touch or corner wear at the tips of the front corners. There is a spot on the inside cover that transferred to the end paper. There are no marks or writing. The interior pages are crisp and clean. The exhibition dates were June 10 through July 31 (1966) . ; 8vo

This is a 2 volume set of 20th Century Drawings in hardcover with slipcases. Part 1 is 1900-1940; Part 2 is 1940 to the Present (meaning 1964, the year of publication. The books are in near fine condition and the slipcases are in fair to good condition. The bindings are tight, the covers are clean, there are no flaws, there is a possible miniscule shade of darkening to the spines. The interior end papers and pages are crisp and clean. There area bout 6 pages of text in each book and the remainder of the book is full page images of a wide variety of modenr artists - in color and black and white. Media, sizes, and credits are listed. There are short single paragraphs at the rear of the book about the artists, plus a bibliography. Each volume has about 141 pages each. The slipcases are paper covered and show some wear at the edges and corners. There is a faint water mark on one, and each has a circular remnant of shadoe and rough surface from removal of price stickers. The books have been well cared for, the slipcases were not meant to sustain handlings - simply made. Each has a different art image pasted down (by intention of the publishers) . SIGNED. This is a tall softcover auction catalog from the auction house of Kornfeld and Klipstein for auction 151 held in June of 1974.. The bright red cover Is printed with the title (above) and the name of the auction house and a large facsimile of the monogram of Albrecht Durer. The reverse side of the front cover has an inscription (name of female) and is signed "Gift from E. Kornfeld"; . Kornfeld's name was Eberhard W. Kornfeld. There are 41 pages of printed text related to the auction items and 39 pages of images. There are five images of Claude Lorrain in a heliiogravure type printing. One is a full page, blank on the revese; two fold-outs printed on one side each, two prints back-to-back on one fold-out. All other images are black and white half tone on glossy paper. There is a light touch of wear at the corners. The covers and pages are very clean. This appears to have been an auction of important artists, including Rembrandt, Piranesi, Tiepolo, Montegna. ; 4to; 80 pages; Signed by Author
