Small, paper boards, 1904, 236 pages. The text block page edges are deckled (untrimmed) . The tips of the edges are lightly darker than the paper. There are to two small offset shadows from two small paper items that were once laid in (one at page 53 with the shadow also on the adjacent blank, the other at the end of the book at the page with the Mosher mark and limited edition information) . The edges show a slight discoloration due to age. The spine and boards are tight and clean. There is a tiny nick in the paper covering at the top of the front cover near the spine. There is a slight change of paper color to the covers near the spine - a faint darkening. The bottom of the spine has a curve inward and a tiny tear. The end papers and pages are clean. No marks or writing. There is a touch of foxing on the reverse side of the first title. This is one of 600 unnumbered copies. Printed on Van Gelder handmade paper. This book has four essays: The Decay of Lying; Pen, Pencil, and Poison; The Critic as Artist, parts I and II; and The Truth of Masks. Well cared for book. ; Small 8vo; 237 pp. pages
