This is a hardcover book with a decorative bookcover. The pebbled cloth covers are red-brown with blind-stamped Asian graphics filled with gilt on the spine and front cover designed by Albert Warren. The edges are beveled. There is a sculpted inset with a polished paper chromolithograph image of a female. The frontispeice and title page vignette illustrations are in color.. There are numerous other black and white illustrations within the text. The illustrations were engraved by Edmund Evans and are by G. H. Thomas, F. R Pickersgill, R A Birket Foster, E H Corbould. All edges are in gilt. There is light bumping to the corners and some fraying at the top and bottom of the spine. There is a slight slant to the otherwise tight binding. The front free end paper is missing. There is a former owner name on the front pasted down end paper. The covers and interior are clean. ; 8vo; 278 pages
