This is a hardcover book without a dust jacket. The binding is bound is 3/4 red leather with green ribbed cloth. The spine is very nicely decorated and titled in gilt. There is a touch of wear to the tip of the leather corners. The binding is tight, hinges strong, end papers clean. The pages are clean, however there are occasional marks against some paragraphs in approximately the first 20 pages. There are no other marks or writing. There is a photogravure portrait of Thackeray as a frontispiece. The top edges are gilt. This is volume 25 on art. ; Vol. 25; 8vo; 315 pages
