This is a Limited Edition hardcover book, illustrated. The binding is tight, the blue-grey cloth covers are generally clean except for a spot on the back cover; the interior is clean. The top edges are gilt. The fore (front) and bottom edges are untrimmed. There is a tasteful former owner bookplate on the front pasted down end paper. There is a trace of a pencil price erasure on the front free end paper. The book is illustrated with a colored etching for the frontispiece and numerous tinted photogravures (photo engravings) within the text. Each photogravure has a tissue guard - some with foxing. The paper used in the book is free of foxing (brown spots - a result of chemical reactions from impurities in the paper or from the environment) .
