This is a hardcover book without a jacket, as designed. The book has green cloth covers with a gilt title on the front cover; no title on the spine. There are black and white photos and drawings, plus six book plate illustrations in color (photocopies) with tissue guards. There is a preface by Clements dated 1910, the content, Use of Mushrooms, a Glossary and an extensive Index. The book covers show some wear - the threads show on the spine, especially at the top and bottom. There is a dark spot on the front cover, the threads broke through on the bottom corners. The end papers are clean. There is a repair to part of the front interior hinge using archival adhesive, no tape. The interior pages are clean. There is a small newspaper clipping pasted down in the margin on one page relating to a poisonous mushroom. There are no other marks or writings. Tall book (10") and a normal width. ; 4to; 169 pages

Thin leather spine with green paper covers and design by Landacre stamped in and filled with gilt metallic and green printing inks. There is also a design on the spine. The slipcase shows just a light touch of wear at the corners where the book is inserted and there is a very faint hint of a little fading at some edges. Not that noticable.
