This item includes a variety of six monthly periodicals for Los Angeles city employees. Each of the magazines are about 22 to 42 pages with a simple cover of the same paper as the pages. The months for these six magazines are April 1944, Vol XVIII, Number 3; September, 1944 Volume XVIII, Number 7; October 1944 Volume XVIII, Number 8; November 1944. Volume XVIII, Number 9; January 1945, Volume XXII, Number 1; June 1946, Volume 21, Number 6. The cover of the first is the new Simon Bolivar Plaza, others are the Aliso Viaduct Edition, 1944 War Chest, City Hall? . It is possible to see the changes in the art of the cover with these six issues. The area coverage stated on the two first issues are "Valley West Los Angeles, Hollywood, Central, Harbor . Full of news, articles, photographs, lists, announcements, war news, personnel, advertisements. Price is for six issues. Tight and clean, but printed on war paper - with wood pulp, paper has darkened. No marks or writing, however, the top part of the back cover has been removed - the mailing label has been torn off. Otherwise, very good condition. No tears, no smudges, one has a little creasing at the bottom front corner, plus a few pages. ; 4to

However, title and copyright informaton is in Chinese. 66 lessons and a vocabulary. Well cared for. ; 8vo; 631 pages

This is a print - an original etching by Malcolm Osborne, signed in pencil. Two figures in the foreground appear to be viewing a distant farm beyond farmland or water. There is a line of poplars and the left is framed in trees. The etching has been hinged and matted on pure archival, antique cream matboard that is cut and ready to frame in a standard size 14 x 18 frame (frame not included) . The image is 6 1/4" high x 13 3/4 " wide. The image is richly inked. There is aI burn mark around the plate mark which is now covered by the archival matboard. T he margins are about 1 1/2 to 2+ inches. The paper is otherwise clean. There are no fold marks, creases, chips, or other signs of wear. The matboard has been protected in acetate and supported on the back with foamcore. Noglue has been used except for the mounting hinge. Possibly one of his earlier etchings: c 1910? . ; -

This is a hardcover second edition book in a half vellum parchment and calico cloth cover. It was published for the Benefit of the Children's Home of the World's Columbian Exposition at Chicago in 1893. It is a collection of comments and sentiments of famous men and women written in their handwriting and signed by them, then printed in facsimile in this book - one person to a page. There are 58 tributes in Part 1 including the President (Harrison) , eight of the Supreme Court Justices, the Shah of Persia, many authors - Hardy, Kipling, Jewett, Field, Holmes, Howe, Deland, and P. Tschaikowsky ( bar of music) . There are 84 tributes in Part 2.. The full sub-title wording is: Being a Collection of Autograph Sentiments Contributed by Famous Men and Women for the Volume. Done in Fac -Simile and Published for the Benefit of the Chldren's Home, of the World's Columbian Exposition. Some of the letters and notes have letter heads, some have little drawings or some art - all in black and white. The calico cloth covers have some spotting as does the vellum parchment spine. The title is printed on the cover in gilt. The end papers are clean, as are the pages. The binding is firm. There is some corner bumping and wear. This is a print (not a book) by Gustave Baumann. This woodcut was published in 1912 in conjunction with a book featuring the twelve months of the year accompanied by poems of James Whitcomb Riley. This is the single woodcut depicting a man driving horses pulling a cart up an incline in a morning or evening sky. The printed poem is included with the purchase. There is a border design beyond the printed border at the top corners and abbreviated on the bottom corners. The Baumann monogram is on the lower right. The colors are a soft orange, brown, grey, blue-grey. There is a touch of foxing in the margins. The print will be mailed with ample protective material. ; .

This is a softcover book about Federico Garcia Lorca - a bibliography, anthology, his life (overview) , and his popular songs. The book is in Spanish - there are black and white photographs throughout the first half of the book and music for a portion of the book. The book is printed on glazed paper. The cover is a heavy weight art paper. The interior of the book is in near find condition, however the cover has some black marks that appear to have transferred something from an adjacent book - perhaps the look of black tape that might have rubbed against the front cover - it affects the bottom right quadrant of the cover. There is a short closed tear across the spine and into the front cover a little. There is a little discoloration to the cover spine and some edges and there are two scuffs to the edge of the book that extends beyond the edge of the text black. Some pages have not been opened. The Hispanic Institute is at the Casa Hispanice located at Columbia University. The book was printed in Cuba. ; 4to; 151 pages

Some are buildings and some of daily life. There is a delightful photo of children on a playground at Charlesbank. One boy is on a bicycle. The binding is a simple cord and a paper cover that is one with the rear cover. The cover has some soil and there is a spot on the rear cover. The interior pages are crisp and clean, however there is a slight chip on the front edge of the first page. ; 8vo; 48 pages

There are extensive cross-referenced indexes. The catalog has been used, but is still in quite nice conditon. The cover has a repaired tear at the bottom of the spine at the outside. The covers are clean. There is a former owner name discreetly stamped in on the reverse. All the pages are clean. They all appear to be without marks or writing. There is a tiny spol on the top edge and wo pages have corner creases as if to makr a page. ; 8vo; 287 pages
