This is a two volume First Edtion hardcover set in a slipcase. Both have the Scribner A and colophon. The date on the title page matches the copyright page. One book is in fine condition, the other is nearly fine except for notes at the back of the volume. The slipcase is roughed up with scuffing along all the edges, a weak rear corner, but is strong overall. The covers are a red cloth with gilt titles on the spines. The cloth of the spines have a hint of fading. The covers are clean and bright and the binding is perfect. The corners are straight. No wear except a light crease at the bottom of one spine. The end papers are perfect except that the owner listed some notes at the rear of Vol 1 (and the last page of the Index) . There are no other marks or writing on the end papers - they are bright and crisp. The pages are equally crisp and clean. ; Vol. 2 VOL; 8vo

This is a First Edition hardcover book in a dust jacket. The book has off-white linen cloth covers that are very clean. The interior is clean except for a tiny inked out number on the front free end paper and a faint trace of pencil price erasure. There is a faint remainder mark on the bottom edges. There are no other marks or writing. This tall, oblong book was published on heavy glossy paper and bound by sewing. There is a little stretch of thread at one of the binding signatures. It is generally strong. The dust jacket has several closed tears, mostly along the bottom edge. There are some tiny chipping. The book is beautifully illustrated in colored, tinted, and black and whte toned renderingsdrawings by 70 famous architects. The signature of Newcomb is on the front free end paper. The covers are pictorial and are now protected in a see-through, removable acetate cover which makes the book look quite crisp and shiny. This is a book with semi-hard, flexible covers in red cloth with a title, image, and palm trees in black ink on the cover and a title on the spine which is dulled gilt. The book is divided by Counties and County Maps, the atlantic Coast, The Gulf Cost, Middle Florida, Subtropical Florida, West Florida. There is additional information on agrilcultural with an emphasis on fruits, Native Races, Seminole Words, Average Temperatures, Rainfall, Populations, Game Laws. The title page states there are 49 maps. Most are within the text or on a page with printing on the reverse side. Some are fold-outs on tissue weight paper. The book is supposed to have a large fold-out map at the rear of the book. This book is missing most of that map, only the part of the map covering a portion of the Panhandle of Florida remains. There are four pages of advertising at the rear of the book. The covers have some spots and a wrinkle (separation of the book cloth from the interior cover) . The hinges are strong, though there are so many pages the hand sewn binding. Ther are no marks or writing on the end paper or the interior. Crisp, clean. The fold out map for Monroe County has a tear on a fold line, now mended. Nice 1891 travel book with lots of suggestions about where to go and what to see. The book seems to emphasize railroad travel within Florida. ; 8vo; 380 pages
