Print of Mother and Child in a fantasy style published c 1900. Artist unknown. Offset print matted. Color is a beige-grey (taupe) in an complimentary taupe colored acid-free matboard. The outside mat size is 9" high x 12" wide - a standard frame size. The image opening is 4 1/2" high x 5" wide. The print is hinged, not glued. The print is backed with foam and wrapped in acetate, ready to hang unframed or to be framed. ; -

Rand McNally 1908 
Map of Virginia in very good condition. Mechanically colored etching, with the counties colored in pastel colors. Cities, rivers and mountains are indicated. Map also contains a special index of railroads and their corporate owners. Paper is clean and crisp and contains one fold. Paper has a yellowed appearance of age, and contains one closed tear along the bottom edge of the fold line and a crease along the right-hand corner. Tear and crease extends just beyond the neat line. Map measures 20 1/2" x 28" (height by width) va003; 20 1/2" x 28"

This is a flexible hardcover book in a dark brown cloth cover and some slightly dulled title on the cover in gilt. The spine is blank. The covers are fairly clean, but there is some corner wear. The pages are clean, but there are former owner name and doodles on the end papers. The name, I. Rosenberg, is writtten several times. The preface contains a statement that this edition was printed on September 12, 1918. The content is in English and is mostly text with some diagrams. ; 12mo; 1918 pages

This is a hardcover book without a dust jacket. The covers are bound in red cloth (BAL A) with elaborate gilt decoration on the covers and spine. The ttile on the spine is Letters of the Jesuits. All edges ae gilt. The covers are clean with minimal wear. The book is tightly bound. The interior pages are very clean and don't show wear. There is a small private library stamp of a Reverend and two stamps of a small college on the end papers. There is also a former owner name in pencil and about 209 pages with lightly bumped corners. There is a Dedication page, The Translator's Preface, and the Epistles. ; 8vo; 373 pages

Dublin Trinity College 1957 Softcover 
This is a small, think booklet published for the Internation Theatre Festival in Dublin in May of 1957 by the Regent House at Trinity College. 14 pages in soft cover (wrappers) The cover is a soft lavender color with black and orange printing and little drawings of posters. The first page is information showing the Director - Brendan Smith - organised and designed by Alpho O'Reilly. The names of the Committee are listed. The background was written by Hester M. Black. The Catalogue of the Exhibition follows. It lists the theatres and a brief three or four lines providing a general overview of the entry. From set and costime designs to photostats of playbills, programmes, photographs, designs for the productio. There are several othern lists. The binding (stapled) is tight and clean. The interior is generally clean, however the former owner wrote notes at the back of the booklet on the reverse side of the outside cover in pencil. The former owner also wrote the day that she attended - 21/5/57 *1957.; 12mo; 14 pages

New York, NY The Cosmopolitan Magazine 1893 First Edition Softcover 
This September issue of The Cosmopolitan Magazine issue of September 1893 contains the first appearance of a very short story by Mark Twain - "Is He Living or is He Dead?". It also contains a long article on the 1893 Columbian Exposition headlined as "A World's Fair Number" One of the articles about the Exposition was written by former President Harrison and another by Walter Bessant. The Twain story was later expanded to become a stage play. The September issue covers pages 514 through 640. There are many more pages of advertsing. The covers for the magazine are paper. This is a single issue. The entire issue is profusely illustrated with black and white half tone photographs. The illustrator for the Twain short story is Alice Barber Stephens. There is another article by W. D. Howells - A traveller from Altruria. Though the interior pages are crisp and clean , this magazine has many little spots on both the front and rear covers. - . Including a small water spot on the front cover. The interior is near fine. There were a couple closed tears on the spine which have been restored. ; 4to

This is a booklet that has been placed in a custom cover with two minor ex-library numbers. The title page of the American Patriot Office in Boston precedes a forword providing background to the article. The article is 29 pages, printed in Washington at a government printing office dated 1856. This is original 1856 publication, not a reprint. The booklet is neat, crisp, and clean with small, modest ex-library stamps at the top and bottom of the foreword and ink mark at the bottom edges. A light blue art paper cover has been made for the article and the original binding perforations were used for a new cord binding. Well cared for and now protected. ; 8vo; 31 pages

San Francisco, CA Italian Swiss Colony First Edition Softcover 
This is a small collection of brochures/pamphlets published around 1932/3 based on other items. They are all about 5 1/4" tall x 3 1/2" wide. They are long pieces of paper that have been folded into the size described. Two are recipes with tinted ink - one is blue-green, the other a soft magenta. Illustrated. The titl es are Wind in Cooking, Outstanding Recipes of Famous San Francisco Chefs and Party Wine Punches and Wind Cocktails. There are about 15 recipes each - food and drinks . A third brochure is The Romance of Asti - three panels printed on both sides. There is a menu and history on the fourth - Sandwich Plates 1, 2, 3 - for 35c each. Edmund A. Rossi wrote the fifth - an article titles What Is Wine, The Science and Chemistry of Wine. It was an address he presented to the House Ways and Means Committee in Washington on December 10, 1932. The sixth is a single folded page printed on both side titled "Important Information on The Handling and Care of Wines. ; 12mo

This is a softcover booklet for a Jai-Alai Official Program from January 13, 1969. There is a paper cover and 20 pages with a stapled binding. The cover has a bright yellow background with red, blue, and black ink. The inside cover has an ad for a restaurant - 'Juniors' and some diagrams for different Jai-Alai shots titled 'Cesta Shot or Two'. Following three pages about celebrities, rules, explanations, wagering, betting, there are 11 pages of games played the night of January 13 in 1969. The center spread is a complete record of all players to date. There are photos of five of the players on the last pae. The back cover is full of advertising. Fine condition. This is a portfolio of removable images of Dine paintings held in a pocket of the portfolio. There is a also fold-out for text equivalent to about three pages written by Carter Ratcliff. There are serveral horizontal paintings, one as long as 204 inches, therefore the images of the paintings have been folded to fit and can be opened to display each. Some paintings fit single pages. There are images for ten paintings. The portfolio is a simple white glossy cardstock with an image of one of the paintings on the front panel. The contents are on the same stock. This item has been well cared for. Clean, crisp, without wear or marks except for a slight slant to the unsupported spine that contains the Dine and Gallery names. Tall, wide, and light weight. 11 x 9 x 1/2". May require extra postage because of the size if shipped internationally. ; 8vo

This is a softcover book with a very detailed account of the proceedings of this gathering. There are transcripts of the speeches, lists of various kinds of members for various purposes, an accounting of membership, fiscal reports, and reports from the members by state and by objectives. In addition to the lists and text, there are a number of graphs, some that fold out. A new wrapper has been made for the book using a complimentary color or archival art paper. A title has been added. The pages at the beginning and end of the pages show wear at the corners, some curls of the tips, and some creases. There are some pencil notes on the front page. The binding is tight. The interior pages are clean and in good condition. There is a piece of ephemera laid in - a line drawing that appears to be a page from a book. There is a name written in pencil on the reverse side with some rank or division (? ; 8vo; 380 pages

200 JULY (Original Woodcut Print by Gustave Baumann. )

This is a print (not a book) by Gustave Baumann. This woodcut was published in 1912 in conjunction with a book featuring the twelve months of the year accompanied by poems of James Whitcomb Riley. This is the single woodcut depicting the month of July. The printed poem is included. This image is of six young boys standing under a flowering tree. Five are playing instruments - possibly all brass. There are homes in the background with fences and trees. There is a border design beyond the printed border at the top corners and abbreviated on the bottom corners. The Baumann monogram is on the lower right. The colors are a soft orange, brown, grey, blue-grey. The image with the border is 7 7/8" high and 6 1/4" wide. This print has been matted in archival materials. The print is hinged at the top; it is not glued down. The matboard may be opened to examine the paper of the margins. The dimensions of the paper are 10 3/8" high x 8 1/2" wide. The paper has a touch of foxing on the right and lower edge. The outside matboard dimensions are 14" x 11" which is a standard frame size. (Frame not included) . The matboard was selected to complement/match the tone of the paper. The print will be mailed with ample protective material. ; .
