21 AIX-LES-BAINS Book of Postcards
Paris Anciens Etab. Neurdein Et Cie. Softcover
This is a small book (let) of postcards (carte postales) . They are bound in with an extension that uses glue. There is a perforated edge to remove the postcards as desired. Each card is numbered, however, the numbers are not in sequence and have quite a wide range. There are about 24 cards, each separated by a tissue guard. Each card shows Anciens Etab. Nerudein as the publisher or printer. There is a logo of ND in a stylized capital P and the letters hot (Phot. ) in the lower right corner. The scenes photographed are from the area of Aix-Les Bains, Lac du Bourget. L'Abbaye de Haute-Gombe, Mont Blanc and more. The photos are in black and white. The cover is a simple delicate red paper with a decorative, part Nouveaux style. There is a little wear on the spine and a shadow of glue used in the binding. Some of the tissue guards have creases, one is missing. 3 1/2" high x 6 1/4" wide though the cards are only 5 1/2" wide from the point of perforation. The date of the cards is from around 1890 to 1910 based on the long dresses and large hats and the decoration on the cover. There are boats in the scenes and a tram style train in one. There are roads, but no carts or autos. ; 12mo
