201 JUNE (Original Woodcut Print by Gustave Baumann. )

This is a print (not a book) by Gustave Baumann. This woodcut was published in 1912 in conjunction with a book featuring the twelve months of the year accompanied by poems of James Whitcomb Riley. This is the single woodcut depicting the month of June. The printed poem is included. This image is of a young boy sitting on the ground leaning against a tree. His fishing pole is lodged in the roots of the tree . The bobber is still and line is slack. There is a border design beyond the printed border at the top corners and abbreviated on the bottom corners. The Baumann monogram is on the lower right. The colors are a soft orange, brown, blue, grey. The image with the border is 7 7/8" high and 6 3/8" wide. This print has been matted in archival materials. The print is hinged at the top; it is not glued down. The matboard may be opened to examine the paper of the margins. The dimensions of the paper are 10 3/8" high x 8 1/2" wide. The paper has a touch of foxing on the right and lower edge. The outside matboard dimensions are 14" x 11" which is a standard frame size. (Frame not included) . The matboard was selected to complement/match the tone of the paper. The print will be mailed with ample protective material. ; .

The cover has a close up of two cookies with M & M's on the top of the cookies. This is a firmly bound Chapter Two of this Manual that includes instruction s for a commander to move troops in orderly process and as a learning tool for new commanders. There are 8 sections: General, Individual Instruction without arms, Individual with arms, Drill - Squad, Drill - Platoon, Drill - Company, Formation of the Battalion, Formations of the Regiment. The cover is two stiff boards that are a beige with a grey book binding cloth at the spine. The book is bound with metal fasteners. The book is very presentable on the shelf as the cloth at the spine is clean and without wear. The boards have some spotting and darkenting (acidic reaction to contents of the board used to make the book covers) . The interior pages have a glossy finish. They are clean and crisp, but with a light mustiness. The former owner dren blue ink circles around the numbers for the various parts Section - exampe - 2-40, 2-41, etc. The book is iIlustrated with black and white half-tone photos and a diagrams. The metal fasteners have lost their finish. There is a former owner name on the inside of the front cover with a Room number. Sturdy. There are no other marks or writing. ; 8vo; 90 pages

This is a hardcover/flexible book in a dust jacket that would be considered in very good plus and near fine condition if not for a former owner name on the end paper and a French name in ink on the title page. The binding is tight, the book looks crisp and it is clean. There is a little fading of the gilt on the cover and two possible tape marks on the inside of the dust jacket. The dust jacket is fresh and clean. There is a faint touch of some edge wear in places. Not clipped. There are two ribbon markers to hold a place in the book - in new condition. There are 1049 pages and there no other marks or writing. Well cared for. The book covers many places in France with detail and small maps set with in the text. The end papers have maps. There is a lengthy and detaile d alphabetical index. In French. This book is heavy and thick and could require a little extra postage if shipped internationaly. ; 8vo; 1049 pages

This is a program souvenir for the inauguration of the store after reconstruction in 1924. There are seven full page illustrations by the artist Drian in black and white and a preface and tribute - comments by Laguionie & Cie. , H. Gordon Selfridge, M. Jean-Louis Audoyer, and M. P. Vanginot. The illustrations are back to back with the text. There is a double spread in the center with a wide view of the exterior of this striking architectural building. The other illustrations are of very stylish shoppers and employees and one is a view of two woman on the terrace with the cupola in the background. The pages are bound portfolio style and enclosed in a faux leather cover made from heavy paper smoothed to provide gloss and then embossed to represent a faux tooled design.. There are three shapes in green and black ink - a border band which surrounds a diamond shape band which then surrounds a circular design. The back ground color is a yellow beige. Nearly all the surface is covered to replicate a leather tooled binding. The pages are all crisp and clean, however there is a remnant of a rust stain on the first two pages at the top right corner that has the shape of a round paper clip. There may have been business cards secured to the top edges. The faux leather cover for the portfolio has visible wear at the top and bottom of the spine. The card stock backing board is exposed, i. E. , the corners are missing. . The front corners and edges have a touch of wear. The covers are clean. There are no marks or writing on the pages or the portfolio cover. ; Folio; 16 pages

This is a softcover book with an overwrap and a slipcase. The book has a tight binding and clean pages. There are two names written in: one of the cover with a date and place of Paris - 1911, the other a name and date of Paris - 1933. The cover is a little worn around the paper cover edge and some cover paper is missing on the spine. There is also a small stain near the spine. The overwrap is paper with a wood facsimile design. The interior of the overwrap seems to indicate that the paper is a sample of a wallpaper, however it is printed with the title of this book. The same paper was used on the slipcase. This overwrap has some edge wear and a puncture on the spine. Poets included are: Pontus de Thyard, Joachim du Bellay, Remy Belleau, Etienne Jodelle. The words Pieces Choisies is printed on the title page. There is no date printed anywhere. In French. ; 8vo; 208 pages

This is a program published by The Katz Company of Kansas City - as a thank you to the customers of Katz Drug stores. Liberace performed with Jennie Tourel of the Metropolitan Opers - Coloratura - Mezzo Soprano. The Kans City Philharmonic Orchestra performed under the direction of Hans Schwieger. The even took place in the Municipal Auditorium Arena October 31 and November 1 of 1952. There are large photo portraits of Liberace, Tourel, and a smaller one of Schwieger and a long view of the orchetra. ( Half-tone in black and white. ) There is information about the music program. The booklet is full of advertisements in images and text for items and brands that were carried at the stores. The cover is a fuzzy grey paper that is more like fabric. There is a musical design and the Katz cat logo on the cover in blue ink. The booklet is 11 3/4" tall x 9" wide. The interior pages are on glossy paper - all in grey, black, and white ink. The Program is in very good condition except for a spinkling of spots on the top of the front cover -possible foxing = brown spots from contact with acidic materials or from the environment) . This is a very well cared for item. No wear, writing, marks, creases. ; 8vo

This is a softcover periodical from 2001 (Spring Number 28) - 18 pages in stiff wrapper covers with a stapled binding. Tight, bright, crisp, and clean - it would be considered in fine condition except for a spot on the rear cover where a small circular sticker was removed and affected the top paper layer of the cover. There is a photograph on the cover by Wilhem Con Gloeden. Articles include A. E. Housman's Diary, June 1891; A Conversation with Tom Stoppard, A Romance with the Classics; The Invention of Love: The Poems and more. This is a book and map atlas published in 1930 and written in Italian covering the area of Venezia Guilia Croazia - Slovenia (Venice and the northwest corner of Italy and across the border into Croatia - Slovenia including Zagreb - the northwest area of what was once called Yugoslavia. ) This is a book with a flexible cover made of heavy weight grey art paper backed with fabric for strength. There are 142 pages of text in Italian and with 9 of 10 maps with two pasted down maps at the front and rear on the interior of the covers. Map 3 is missing except for one panel . Those present are 1 and 2, plus 4 though 10. The book appears to be published by the Ministero della Guerra which is printed on the title pages which is on the cover of the book. The rear of the book includes another map on the rear panel showing three geographica areas within the area described above and titled "Teatro di operazioni Italo-Jugoslavo". The areas shown in the map are numbered 5, 6, 7. This is Monografia Geografica N. 6 for Venezia Giulia Croazia-Slovenia and specifically the Linea di Operazioni Fiume - Zagabria. In the upper right hand corner of the front cover 'Copia No and a line are printed in the corner and the number '4' is stamped on the line. There is another stamp showing "Pubblicazione No 341R". It also states Capitolo 26 in due (2) volumi. This is Volume 1. The text covers the terrain and features with quite a lot of detail, including pronounciation and much more in an Appendix.. The binding is strong, but delicate in that the block of text and maps weighs about one pound and it is sewn to the cover, without glue. The top and bottom of the spine shows wear with some chipping. There is a small label with a border that has the number 10 written on it in red pencil. There is some rice paper reinforcement of the extremes of the spine in a blending tone to match the grey of the covers. The front cover has some smudges. The interior pages of text in Italian are clean and crisp except for some short vertical lines in pencil in the margin next to specific lines. There is a small oval stamp on the first page, plus some alpha and numeric characters in pencil in the margin. There are two small stamps at the rear of the book which says 'Withdrawn' in English. There are no other marks or writing. The maps are on strong paper with several fold marks. The first map is the largest at approximately 24 x 24 inches with black ink and a beige-buff shading to certain areas. The other maps are a little smaller with red and blue lines to marks roads or pass through, plus some solid coloring. .. The maps are in very good condition - there is a touch of darkening at the edges that doesn't affect the face of the map. There is a short closed tear at the hinge of the map stub which has been reinforced from the rear with archival Japanese paper. The book is about 8 " tall, 5 " wide, and 1" thick. Number 6, in Italian, 9 out of 10 fold-out maps, plus three other small maps on the end papers and the rear cover. This book is not commonly listed on the internet. Fiume / Rijeka; 8vo

Otherwise, No marks, no writing, no wear except for the tiny crease at the tip. The book is tall (11") wide (8 1/2") , thick, (1") . Bright yellow background to covers with cartoon and paste art in black. Some articles have illustrations in black and white. An anti-authoritarian collection of articles about books. The author / compiler (Michael Hoy) states that he wanted the articles, like the books, to be controversial and unusual. This is the 1990 edition. Well cared for. ; 4to; 300 pages
