This is a hardcover book published in 1902 by David Nutt. 59 pages. This is Number 15 in the Grimm Library (Series) . The covers are paper covered with a cloth spine. In soft green. The covers are in need of back strip replacement. The gilt title detail is present, but the top half inch of cloth is missing and a little lost at the bottom of the spine. There is some wear along all the edges. There are a few spots on the rear cover. There are no marks or writing to the interior except for a touch of pencil price erasure on the front end paper. The interior pages are clean. The binding is hand sewn to lie flat, therefore is not as tight as the usual binding. A third part of the title is "Being an Appendix is the Author's Legend of Sir Lancelot". The first 14 titles in the Grimm Library are listed. In o; 8vo; 59 pages

Quite worn and foxed hardback cloth book. Spine label has chips and the print of the title is fading. Just barely readable. Hinges repaired. Appears to be original cover. A few spots on cover. Interior pages have obvious foxing (brown spotting from acid in paper) . There is a water stain at bottom margin throughout. End papers heavily foxed. Light, old pencil gift or presentation note and 1841 date on front end paper and two indeciferable initials in ink. Two of the signatures protrude slightly. This book was probably carried in the side saddle. County to country descriptions of topography, geology, history, possibiliti es, transportation, settlements. Population, list of roads and distances, list of postoffices, new post-routes, mail facilities, and seven first hand accounts of life including, Sketch of Mountain Life by a Trapper, Pawnee Sacrifice, Annals of the Shop and Spectre Gambler. There is a bookplate of Ruth Gordon and Garson Kanin on the front end paper and a William Doyle (Auction) Galleries slip laid in that states that the book is from the library of Ruth Gordon. There is a tiny bookstore label from the Tilden Stationer in Keene on the rear pasted down end paper. ; 8vo; 426 pages

This is Volume 2 only - a hardcover leather book dated April, 1893 on the title page. The book requires repair to the binding. Only a portion of the spine is present and the binding is weak and very worn. The leather covers are present and with gilt, but worn at the edges in places and with a stain.. . The interior pages are clean with gilt edges. There are many portraints printed with high quality in black and white tones. The last 30 or so pages have been exposed to dampness and a couple of portraits of women are affected. This book may require extra postage if shipped by air. It won't fit in a Priority Mail box.
