Tight hardback book with bright gilt titles on cover and spine. Pasted on photogravure of woman in a doorway with hand about to be extended surrounded by red, black, and gray stamped pictorial cover and spine by WIll Jenkins. Dark mustard color cloth has clean look but if closely examined shows faint overall spotting. Touch of wear to corners. Bottom of front interior hinge has break in end paper. Clean end papers except for smaller than pencil erasure size matching spot that also shows through to half title page. Rear end paper shows small writing of code in ink. Top edges gilt; fore and bottom edges untrimmed. Interior pages are very clean. Type and half tone photograph reproductions surrounded by decorative design by Jenkins in an art nouveau style. Glossy paper. Printed August 1905 at the University Press. Photographs by Leigh Richmond Miner. ; 8vo

This is a soft black-grey cardstock paper cover with yapped (overlapping edges) and silver print with pictorial border on front cover. Slight wear to edges where it overlaps the pages. Binding very tight. Pages clean. States second edition on cover. Contains typed signed letter by author, pasted in, and dated Denver, 1956 on letterhead of author. There is browning on the reverse blank side of the page where the letter is pasted in - a reaction to acidic glue or paper. The title says 'livestock', but the book is about other farm animals and more. One poesm is titled "I'd Rather be a Hen". There is one page with illustrations (offset grey inks) - it is titled "Co-authors" and there is a rooster, steer, horse, hens, donkey, and a man assumed to be the author. ; 8vo

Hard-bound book in good condition, with good clipped dust jacket. Cloth boards are crisp and binding is tight, but cloth on boards is starting to discolor, especially at the spine. There is a smudge on the back panel at the bottom corner. The end papers are discoloring from the glue used by the binder. Pages are clean but slightly yellowed with age. Dust jacket is shows edge wear and has a 5/8 inch chip at the bottom of the spine and a corner chip on the rear panel at the bottom corner. The color of the spine is darkening and shows a water stain. Jacket looks better in a see-through, removable mylar cover. ; 8vo; 133 pages
