It is the autobiography of an a Broklyn boy (1925) whose parents came from Italy. He became a singer in a rogue way and went on to a career in clubs, ballrooms, records, a television show and a role in a movie with rock and roll singers Little Richard, Alan Freed, Bill Haley. Little Richard. In 1956 he played baseball in a celebrity-entertainer game and stood side by side with Joe DeMiaggio each signing autographs. The binding is tight. There is sunning to the spine. The art paper covers a a dull gray. Thec covers have some curled corners with a little touch of soil. There is a soft vertical crease near the spine on the cover and first few pages. The end paper has a trace of pencil erasure. Theee are no other marks or writing anywhere. The interior pages are clean and still crisp, but this book has been read. It contains the proceedings of nine days from September 23 through the morning of October 2nd. There are nine handsome chromolithograph plates with a pristine tissue guard over each. . The items appear to be facsimiles of logos for various church groupings in nine countries - Ireland, England Wales, France, Germany, Switzerland, Bohemia Moravia, Italy, Holland, Hungary. The binding is a dark olive green with blindstamped design inked in gilt for the Alliance, and nine images of the emblem of representatives inked in black. . The binding is quite tight and secure. The cover is strong and with a minimum of wear to two corners. The book has been nicely designed for the tastes of the time. The end papers are coated brown There is a break in the paper on the front hinge, but it is securely held. There appears to be a remnant outline from a book plate that was removed from the front paste down end paper. There are no marks or writing. The interior pages are crisp and clean. There appears to be no foxing. The top edges are a little dulled and the front bottom foredges have a trace of shelf soil - the text block is heavy and probably rested on the shelf. There are 1154 pages - the book is about 3 inches thick. This book may require extra postage if shipped internationally. Well cared for. ; 8vo; 1154 pages
