This is a Limited Edition hardcover book, illustrated. The binding is tight, the blue-grey cloth covers are generally clean except for a spot on the back cover; the interior is clean. The top edges are gilt. The fore (front) and bottom edges are untrimmed. There is a tasteful former owner bookplate on the front pasted down end paper. There is a trace of a pencil price erasure on the front free end paper. The book is illustrated with a colored etching for the frontispiece and numerous tinted photogravures (photo engravings) within the text. Each photogravure has a tissue guard - some with foxing. The paper used in the book is free of foxing (brown spots - a result of chemical reactions from impurities in the paper or from the environment) . This is Number 180 of a Limited Edition of 550 copies. The artist is Georges Rochergrosse. There is a Preface by Anatole France. The etching was engraved by Champollion. ; Tall 8vo; 118 pages

This is a First Edition hardcove book in a dust jacket. The book is tight, bright, crisp. The covers are clean except for a tiny faint spot on the front and a hint of shelf shading on the bottom edge. The covers are a tight bright white linen. The end papers are a silver foil. The pages are a heavy gloss with black and white plus color photographs, including a double fold-out to four panels. There are no marks or writing on the end papers or pages and the pages are perfectly new looking. There is a light touch of rubbing on the foil. This book has been nicely designed and bound. The dust jacket is a printed vellum with a special finish on the inside of the jacket, possibly for a stained glass bubble effect. The jacket is unclipped. There is just a touch of wear at the top and bottom of the spine and corners. The front and rear inside flaps have slight corner creases. Well cared for. Text by Follett and photographs by f-stop Fitzgerald. Large book: tall 11 1/8", wide 10 1/4". This is a two volume hardcover set without dust jackets. The set was privately printed in New York in 1912. A slip with a note that the book is compliments of the families responsible for printing the work is glued in - Turle, Barr, Williams, Skeel, Ford, Skeel, Jr. Copyright data is not printed. The two volume set is bound in blue cloth with titles on the spine in bright gilt. The covers and spine are brightly fresh in appearance and without wear except for two tiny nicks in the cloth at the front edge of the spine, a very short pen stroke in the upper corner of the front cover, plus a very faint loss of color along the lower vertical spine edge of Volume 1. The free end papers are discolored by offsetting from the pasted down end papers. All other pages are clean. There are no marks or entries. Volume 2 contains an engraved bookplate of Eliot (Thomas Dawes Eliot) . The page edges are untrimmed. Most pages are uncut. Volumes 1 and 2 have 567 and 555 pages respectively. The book is illustrated with photogravures, a half tone reproductions of a silhouette, and a facsimile of a memorandum. An Errata for both volumes is glued in on the last page of Volume 1. There is an addenda, extensive appendices, a checklist of writings, authorities cited, and an index. Printed in Glascow by Robert Maclehose and Co. Ltd. These books have been well cared for and are unusually bright and clean. They are presently wrapped in acetate for additional protection. ; 8vo

SIGNED. This is a First Edition hardcover book without a jacket, but with parts of the jacket glued into the book.. Signed on the half title page at the top - "Very sincerely yours " Frances Parkinson Keyes' in small letters and in ink. The front illustrated cover has been pasted on the dedication page. The inside flaps of the jacket and the rear panel are pasted in at the rear of the book. The back panel is pasted on the reverse side of the first blank page. The text on the flaps of the jacket are on the two blank pages following. There is a former owner name and holiday name and date written in on the front pasted down end paper in the upper left corner. The end papers are decorated in white on grey paper with the words "If I ever cease to love". There are flourishes and a music bar with notes. The cover is a soft purple with a blind stamped decorative piece in the shape of a hand mirror with and "E' on it - in silber metallic ink. There is a title in the samee metallic ink on the spine. . The text block is still firmly held in the binding in spite of the 807 pages. There are no other marks or writing. The end papers and pages are quite clean and crisp. The page edges are clean except for the bottom for tip which is darkened from resting on the shelf because of the weight of the 807 pages. There is a a small round spot on the top edges. The covers are generally clean. There is a 1/3" closed tear at the top of the spine in the center. There is a little loss of cloth dye at the corners and the vertical edges of the spine. The corner wear is slight. The book will come with an archival, removable and see-through acetate cover. ; 8vo; 807 pages; Signed by All Authors
