The hinges are tight, the covers are very clean, the end papers and interior pages are very clean and without marks or writing. The book is 3/4 Morocco leather with matching color (maroon) cloth. The end papers are marbled. There is a hint of a bump to the bottom front corner. And very slight wear to the spine horizontal edges. Photo illustrated portraits. This is a Dodd, Mead U. S. Ediiton in a hardcover without a dust jacket. The book is illustrated in full page and in text color (plates) and black and white woodcuts by Marcia Lane Foster. The binding is a marbled paper with a cloth spine. The spine and binding are tight and unworn. The marbled paper covered covers have some edge browning and light wear. There is a former owner name, date (year of publication) , and location neatly scripted on the front free end paper. The pages are crisp and clean, but there is a hint of foxing throughout (light beige spotting caused by a chemical change in the paper - over years) . This is a small book of 53 pages. The author of Wind in the Willows wrote this satire about Jeanne, a young girl who takes over the job of executioner early in the sixteenth century. ; 8vo

This is a hardcover book published in 1895. There are several artists who have illustrated the book and the cover was designed by Margaret Armstrong. Black and white line drawings within the text and on full pages is by Charles Dana Gibson, B. West Clinedinst, and W. H. Hyde. The contents are 10 comical stories somewhat related to etiquette. Some of the story titles are The Use of Time, The Conduct of Life, TheSummer Problem, Education. The cover is a beige cloth with gilt and green decoration. There is a striped border in green, a border in gilt, a gilt and green title in script and design. The cover has some corner wear and the bottom edges are a little frayed. There is a sprinkle of spots on the front cover, some soild on the rear cover, and the spine has darkened and the gilt title weakened. There is a former owner name on the on the front end paper. The interior pages are clean and crisp. There are no other marks or writing. The top edges are gilt. The book is wrapped in a see-through, removable acetate cover. 353 pages; 8vo; 353 pages

The book has a beige background paper covers with a green cloth spine. Shades of green are used liberally throughout the book. The printing is in brown. The front and back cover are the same. The covers have edge wear, the spine has a little wear. The olive green end papers are coated and there are no names or writing. The interior pages are generally clean, but with occassional smudging and foxing. The hinges of the end papers have partly split, but have been delicately repaired without using tape. . The pages are firmly bound. Delightful. ; 12mo; 48 pages
