1 Henry, Bill A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS Alice-Henry's Visit

Original pen, watercolor, and gouache drawing on grey paper of the costume design for Alice during Henry's visit for "A Man for All Seasons". The full figure portrait of Alice is rendered in watercolors and defined with ink contour lines. Swatches of the actual fabrics selected for her costume are stapled along the left hand edge and the title Alice- Henry's Visit is written in ink in the top right corner. Drawing is in fine condition and the paint and ink remain opaque and fresh, there is however four small pin holes along the upper edge. This drawing is one of a series of drawings for the costumes designed for Shakespeare's "A Man For All Seasons" performed in St. Paul, MN in the 1970's. The two full figure portraits of Cromwell in his costume with and without his cloak are rendered in watercolors and gouche and defined with ink contour lines. Swatches of the actual fabrics selected for his costume are stapled in the margins around the painted figures and the title Cromwell is written in ink in the top right corner, along with some other notations. Drawing is in fine condition and the paint and ink remain opaque and fresh. This drawing is one of a series of drawings for the costumes designed for Shakespeare's "A Man for All Seasons" performed in St. Paul in the 1970's.
