This is the 29th in a series of this literary book published in Rome. This issue contains three works by Robert Penn Warren. The cover is a beige nice art paper with a classic font title. There is an overwrap of soft paper printed on a white and green background with a list of contributors on the front panel and promotional blurbs on the rear. TThere are 473 pages. The book was published in 1959. Tight and bright. The wrapped jacket has worked well to preserve the art paper covers. There is a little smudging on the overwrap and faint darkening on the spine. There is a small chip on the lower front edge of the overwrap. There are no marks or writing. There is a touch of foxing on the top edge. The contributors come from many countries. Well cared for. ; 8vo; 473 pages

Paris La Renaissance Du Livre Softcover 
This is a softcover book with an overwrap and a slipcase. The book has a tight binding and clean pages. There are two names written in: one of the cover with a date and place of Paris - 1911, the other a name and date of Paris - 1933. The cover is a little worn around the paper cover edge and some cover paper is missing on the spine. There is also a small stain near the spine. The overwrap is paper with a wood facsimile design. The interior of the overwrap seems to indicate that the paper is a sample of a wallpaper, however it is printed with the title of this book. The same paper was used on the slipcase. This overwrap has some edge wear and a puncture on the spine. Poets included are: Pontus de Thyard, Joachim du Bellay, Remy Belleau, Etienne Jodelle. The words Pieces Choisies is printed on the title page. There is no date printed anywhere. In French. ; 8vo; 208 pages

This is the Spring 1970 edition - Volumen IV, Number 1. The Editor was William N. Colton III. The black and white illustration on the orange cover is by James Arnosky - an award winning iillustratort/artist known for science and nature - it is a frog in armor holding a helmet and riding a seahorse with other figures hiding in the art. This is a softocover book of poetry with original woodblack illustrations and cover. There is a hand black cover on fine crepe paper for the cover. The book is bound using folded paper and then bound. There are verses and illustrations related to 10 Blossom Songs and 5 Sword Songs. The Blossom Songs date from (no later than) 906 AD and the Sword Songs are more recent. The cover and interior are all art work from the calligraphy to the woodblacks in soft colors. The cover design is what appears to be leaf shapes falling down on or lfloating on water. Each poem has original art. The work was translated by Shotaro Kimura and Charlotte M. A. Peake. The back cover shows a closed tear and a touch of soil. The front cover is a reproduction of the original. This is a handsome rescue and restoration of a historic work. This book contains two volumes of The Ladies Garland and Family Magazine bound in one (binding) . Volume 10, July to December 1846 and Volume 11 from January to June, 1847. The book is 3/4 dark brown leather and pebbled cloth covers. The end papers are marbled in a complimentary design. There are eight hand-colored floral and bird engravings and a number of black and white steel engravings and mezzotints throughout. The spine is titled Ladies Garland and Volume 10. There is decorative gilt as well. The covers have some scuffed corners with some breakthrough of the leather. There is a slight loss of cloth at the fore-edges on the book. There is a small label of a Rochester, NY bookstore on the upper corner of the front end paper. There is a name and place (Laurence, KS) in pencil on the first blank page. There is another name in pencil on the title page. There is another or the same Lawrence, KS name on the verso of the end paper in pencil, plus some very, small words in pencil. The binding is tight, Except for the scuffing, the covers are clean. , There are no marks on the end papers other than what has been described. The pages are fairly clean of smudges, with a touch of foxing throughout, a little heavier in spots. There is also some offsetting from the engravings. Most of the hand-colored engravings are covered in a fine tissue paper. There are some ink splatters on the last dozen or so pages. There is a short tear on the first blank page - repaired with Japanese tissue paper. One of the articles is titled "How to Reform a Husband". The quality of the coloring is good to very good, not as fine as in more dedicated floral books from the same time period. There are 192 pages in each volume. Charming. ; Vol. 10/11/2010; 8vo

SIGNED. This is a hardcover book of children's poetry - with a dust jacket and signed by the author in the center of the front free end paper. The book is delightfully illustrated by Susan Elson. The illustratio ns are line drawings in black and white - some full page and some within the text. The covers are cloth in a soft peach-pink color. There is a little design and title on the cover in black ink as well as a title on the spine. There is a former owner name on the front pasted down end paper. There is a very light touch of some soil on the bottom edge, in a few places. Clean throughout with crisp pages. The dust jacket is a bright yellow with a drawing of a child leaning in an upper window of a portion of a house waving to a child in a sand box with clothes on the line in the background. There is some wear to the jacket - a tear to the bottom edge of the rear panel, some chipping on the corners, some smudges and a little stain. The original price is present . The jacket is now protected and freshened up and covered by a new archival see-through, removable mylar jacket-cover. ; 8vo; 64 pages; Signed by Author
