1 CINDERELLA. HANSEL AND GRETTEL. (Postcards Published in Bound Booklet)
Switzerland Fabrication Suisse Booklet
This is a tall, narrow bound booklet containing perforated postcards in lithographic color and outline black and white line drawings of the images in the postcards. The black and white outline can be colored by copying the postcard (opposite) and then both the published or the hand colored postcard could be sent. Or the entire booklet could be preserved. All black and white cards are untouched. The postcards tell the Cinderella and the Hansel and Grettel stories in pictures. No text. All the drawings are signed on the card with a monogram that contains the letters M and W. The M is over the W. The cover has a colored image of Conderella in a window feeding birds with more birds approaching. There are 12 lithograph postcards and 12 black and whites. The reverse side of each is lines for an address, note, and a place for the stamp. The paper is delicately brittle. Some of the bottom corners have chipped at the points with the art of the card untouched. The booklet is bound with staples and some of the fold in the booklet has separated and reinforced with archival tape - not touching the postcards. Some perforations have started to separate. Must be handled with care until used. The cards and covers are quite clean, but with a faint spot or two on the rear cover. The rear of the booklet shows that the booklet was published in Switzerland the the Fabrication Suisse. There is a logo and the Number 836.; 8vo
