Claflin Company Softcover This is a softcover book of 111 pages, The book is about rugs and carpets, with photos of carpet and background information. Included with information about various carpets, there is a glossary for art symbols woven into the rug, a chart listing names of rugs and their warf, wept, and knots to inch, markets, workers. . There is a section with photos of the area and prints. All illustrations are in half tone black and white, The photos of places and prints at the back of the book are quite small. The binding is tight. The cover was a purple, but has faded to a lighter neutral purple, lighter on the spine and pronounced on the back. There is a water stain at the bottom spine corner. The first blank page has no writing or marks, but there is a touch of soil. The interior pages are quite bright and crisp. The title on the cover has also faded. No date, the latest date discovered withint the text is 1892. Lawrence Winters wrote the Introduction. ; 8vo; 111 pages

The book is profusely illustrated with full page color photographs of cakes decorated in the style of the 1920's - for all occasions and themes. There is a cake decorated with daisy frosting flowers and the words "Daisies Won't Tell". The binding is tight, covers are clean with a hint of bottom front corner wear. The interior is fine except for a former owner inscription. There is a trace of a pencil price erasure. Delightful. Pages crisp and clean. Gift condition book, except for two little flaws - two tiny holes In the tissue guard covering over the portrait of the author-cook. The title in gilt on the spine is darkened, but readable. ; 8vo; 99 pages

The contents are clean and in good condition except for foxing on title page, frontispiece and tissue guard and wherever there are tissue guards. A slight hint of corner wear. Former owner name on title page in old ink. Book is solidly bound, however the rear end paper has split. . Profusely illustrated, most in-text. 237 pages, 2 pages of advertising. Any faults diminished in comparison to the beauty of the book cover and the quality condition of the paper. Protected in see-through, removable acetate jacket. The book has been well cared for. The only faults are a result of the foxing to the end papers with offsetting. This book has very bright gilt The fomer owner name is Scott Henry Perky. There is a Perky by that name who was the only surviving son of Henry Perky, inventor, lawyer, Nebraska Congressman, businessperson and who invented shredded wheat. ; 8vo; 237 pages
