This is a softcover book in an edition of 1200 published in 1964. The cover has a two tone art paper in a soft brown and orange with a nice sketch of Huxley by Don Bachardy. Following the Intro by George Wickes there is a list of manuscripts in the Huxley Collection. The list is followed by three letters that Husley wrote. There are half tone prints of photographs of Huxley at various ages and some caricatures by some well known artists. 36 pages. Tight, bright, crisp, clean. No marks, no writing, no wear. There are some faint curls to the front covers. Well cared for; well preserved.. ; 8vo; 36 pages

SIGNED. This is a First Edition hardcover book in a dust jacket. The book is in near find condition. There is a faint difference in the matte finish of the cloth binding at the spine. The covers have a grey paper in fine condition. The end papers are in dark grey and are pristine. The pages appear to be unread. The author signed on the title page (no inscription, no date) . The pages appear to be unread. The dust jacket is in very good condition - there is a slight loss of the grey color layer of the paper at the foreedges. The corners and spine edges show some wear - tiny tears. The original price is still present. The jacket is -protected from any further wear by a new archival, see-through and removable mylar cover. This is the 1885 edition in a 3 volume set in the original publishers binding; green cloth with gilt. The bindings are very tight, the books are clean, bright, and crisp, the gilt is bright. The end papers are coated brown paper. The pages are very clean and there are no marks or writing. There are three engraved frontispieces of Eliot and a plate with a portrait of Robert Evans, all with tissue guards. There are other illustrations in black and white. Each volume has a bookplate of the former owner on the front pasted down end paper. Volume 1 contains a gift note pasted in on the front free end paper. The set was a given to the owner by William Purcell and dated December 25, 1885. Purcell was Editor of the Rochester Union and Advertiser newspaper. ; Vol. 3 VOL; Small 8vo

The end paper as a bookplate of George Young Hull who is supposed to be connected to the Hull House in Chicago.
